Christina Johnson, Founder & CEO
A dynamic, results-driven, and experienced director, consultant, and professor, Christina has a deep-rooted passion for education and business development. With over 10 years of experience in management, business development, marketing, training, and sales in both academic and corporate environments, she has been successful in driving results and building relationships in both business and academic settings and has been equally successful in bridging the academic and business worlds through strategic partnerships. Now semi-retired, she is quickly growing her first nonprofit organization, Ruff Day Rescue, and rescuing/rehoming as many dogs in CA (and beyond!) as possible.
Christina is also the co-founder of Rubicon Dog, a startup company committed to revolutionizing dog transportation through the creation of a “reverse-engineered child car seat, built for dogs.”
Chris Johnson, Co-Founder & COO
Christina’s #1 loyal and faithful human companion, Chris recently retired from his successful 30-year career in construction so that he can focus on helping his wife of 45 years manage the operations of Ruff Day Rescue! In addition to managing all dog transportation, Chris is a certified trainer who works closely with all foster providers and adopters to rehabilitate the dogs after they’ve been rescued, as many of them come from backgrounds with severe trauma and abuse.
When he’s not hanging out and playing with his and Christina’s 5 beloved German shepherds, or dashing off in his super truck to save the next shepherd from being euthanized at a shelter, Chris takes great pride in being a father to their 3 awesome children, ages 17, 22, and 25. And he’s thrilled to be teaming up with his wife to build and grow Ruff Day Rescue into California’s premier rescue organization for German shepherds!
Marshall L. Olney, Board Member
Marshall is an attorney at the Los Angeles-based firm Buchalter, and a member of the Tax, Benefits and Estate Planning practice group. Marshall focuses his practice on general business tax, reorganizations, and mergers.
Marshall is also is a Certified Merger and Acquisition Advisor (CM&AA) and Certified Anti-Money Laundering Specialist (CAMS). He also holds an FAA Airline Transport Certificate (ATP). He’s working towards Legal Mergers & Acquisitions Expert (LM&A) and International Mergers & Acquisitions Expert (IM&A) certificates and International Mergers & Acquisitions Expert (IM&A).
Prior to his legal career, Marshall was an U.S. Army Officer and Blackhawk aviator. He was deployed to Liberia as part of the global effort to combat the spread of Ebola.
